Sometimes it feels as though the simplest things ever are also the most enjoyable. Over the weekend, I was able to accomplish a lot of small things that I’ve left unattended. They’re somewhat meaningless on their own, but it’s satisfying nevertheless to be able to finish everything on the back-burner.

The current living situation I’m in is somewhat precarious. I’m staying with my family outside of the city due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19. One of our family friends’ kids are also staying here, since she’s a recent university graduate who’s otherwise alone here. However, to minimize exposure risk for my grandma who’s turning 84 this year, she’s staying in the city and I deliver groceries to her only a weekly basis.

Over the weekend, I went to the grocery store for the first time since March to pick up groceries. Typically, we bring whatever extras we’ve purchased but this time I went in by myself and our family friend’s kid. Then, we dropped by my grandma’s place and dropped off the groceries. Every time we go get groceries, it’s become somewhat of a tradition for me to pick up some milk tea and pass it to some friend who I know lives along the way. There was a friend I hadn’t seen for a long, long time, who I briefly visited to drop off the tea.

Today was a super productive day. I had a few letters I needed to write and hammered them all out. There were three separate programming-related projects that I had picked up which I also ended up making loads of progress on. Finally, I at long last finished Serial Experiments Lain. The show is hella weird, but it got me interested in watching Neon Genesis Evangelion which was another existential show that came out at the time. About time I educated myself in these cult classics.

I’m a little worried about next week. I’m finally going to be the owner of my own place! It’s exciting to think about but everything in preparation for the move feels like a headache. I still need to set up the hydro, internet, phone, and address forwarding. I also need to actually lug all the crap I own over. Oh well, I’m still looking forward to it when all is said and done.

I’ve gotta sleep. Pretty tired after all the jazz over the weekend. Good night!
