Initially, I was going to make a post about how rare finding good content on social media was after seeing someone I know make a touching post about how they felt that their life had changed throughout the course of their university life. What changed my mind ultimately is that maybe it’s too negative; I want to focus on the feeling that people have when they make such personal, touching accounts on their lives on social media. Therefore, the following message is to everyone brave enough to express themselves through writing: you’re pretty good at at!
What I love about reading people’s blogs (and personal social media posts) is that you end up learning a lot about the way somebody thinks. As someone who is trying to get into blogging, expressing yourself through writing is really more difficult than it seems when you’re reading someone’s post. Everything, from the flow between paragraph to paragraph to the tone that you write in, is so unique to the individual and brings out the subtle characteristics that makes reading someone’s posts fun. It doesn’t have to be about a particular subject or anything, it’s just a post that someone wanted to make to encapsulate a portion of everyday life and freeze it in time in the form of a post or comment.
It’s too easy to take for granted that how we experience life can at times be so myopic and that we should see just exactly how others may interpret the world. There’s so much to learn from one another. For those who know me, I love pushing conversations as far as they can go when it comes to people’s personal experiences. I don’t know what interests me so much about discovering how and why people think in certain ways. Maybe I’m just weird. Still, anything that leads to a better understanding of each other is, to me, a positive thing.
